Founded in March 2024 by Eshal Ikram, Rakibul Alam, Ajwa Abbasi, Farva Khan, and Sana Khan, Mason Consulting Group was created to bring consulting out of the classroom and into the real world at George Mason University. The idea began after the founders participated in the Deloitte Startup Consulting Case Competition, a fast paced three day experience that sparked an early passion for consulting. What followed was not an effort to build a resume booster, but a genuine desire to share that passion and create meaningful opportunities for other students. While interest in consulting and business careers continues to grow, exposure to consulting, client facing roles, and real world experience remains limited, especially in today’s competitive internship market.

Mason Consulting Group was built to close that gap. Open to students of all majors, the organization focuses on fueling students with the same curiosity and excitement for consulting by developing practical skills through case interviews, real client work, teamwork, presentations, problem solving, networking, and technical tools used in the industry. What sets Mason Consulting Group apart is its emphasis on real impact and authentic learning. Members work directly with local businesses through partnerships with the Fairfax City Economic Development, delivering consulting services while gaining the confidence, experience, and perspective needed to succeed in the consulting world.

Officially launched in Spring 2024, Mason Consulting Group exists to empower students with the experience, skills, and network to grow not just as candidates, but as consultants.
